  • Thanks so much Spencer!! We appreciate the feedback! We've got a couple other ideas in the works for next month!

Here is the link to the second episode of Hide Me. If you are so inclined to watch it! We had a blast making these and will prolly make another just for shits.

  • Nice work with this. I think technically you're there. Like Dave said, it came off as a bit too much of a sketch and less of a show. But a funny sketch none the less.

Speaking from experience (that is to say failure- the only experience that matters) movies don't translate well as 101 parodies. If there's a series of gags you wanna hit on, go for it. But don't paint yourself into a corner thinking "we gotta hit these gags or we're toast!"

As an experiment, think about a TV show you'd like to parody. Keep the story simple and just have fun with the execution. Seems like you already have a good touch, so like I said, you're almost there.

Keep your creative chin up, and I look forward to seeing your next show!

  • Awesome! Thanks man, good to know we are on the right track. We all kinda had a feeling we didn't set it up right for a series. But we were drawing blanks on how to make it more clear without messing up the flow.

Since there was no screening for June and we really liked how the first one turned out we already shot the second episode. I'll post a link to it when we finish editing.

  • Dude! I really enjoyed Hide Me. I think this was really close to getting in, we talked about it for awhile.

I remember the main point of contention for this pilot was that it was too much like a "sketch" and didn't feel like a show, which I think you've described by saying you didn't set up the premise enough.

One of the keys to Channel 101 is to make your thing feel like a mini TV show. It's a franchise. We should be able to imagine what the second episode would be, what the 10th episode would be... and with this show we had trouble understanding if it was even supposed to have a second episode.

BUT THAT SNAKE GAG. Really weird and funny. I feel like your next show will probably get into the screening.

  • Hey guys, just looking for some feedback on our latest rejected pilot. I'm assuming we didn't set up the premise of the series soon enough (or at all). To clarify, we wanted to make a series that played with all the different "hiding" movie tropes; shoes under curtain, behind lamp, ect. we had a hundred more for future episodes but we didn't make that very clear ha ha.
