  • Oh that's great, I'll make a different episode with a stronger ending and submit that as a new pilot. Thanks for the feedback!

  • Hey other Alex,

You can resubmit the same exact episode, you can submit the same episode recut and with new scenes, you can submit a new pilot with the same characters.

    All your call!

  • Hey Alex,

Thanks for the feedback that makes sense. I kinda got caught in a no man's land where this was the first act of a bigger idea that I had to fit into 5 minutes.. and I understand that ultimately these need to be satisfying in the given time-frame.

I'm a week or two into working on another episode of this same project but I'm guessing that since I was rejected on this I can't submit that because it has to be a whole new concept right?

How different does a concept have to be to qualify as a new pilot? I have dozens of ideas for episodes with these (and other connected) characters. Are they all tainted from the CH101 point of view now?

  • Hey, I think this was one of the funnier pilots at the panel and was in consideration. I think the reason this didn't get enough votes to be in the screening is, even though we were all on board during the psychic scene, we kinda lost interest in the last scene. The setup of the story (psychic convinces wife her husband was murderer in past life) is really fun, especially how you did it, but you gotta take that story somewhere, rather than just have them discuss it a little more and end it abruptly.

    Hope you keep submitting!

  • Hey guys and girls,

Just saw the rejection email and figured I'd take the opportunity to get any thoughts or reactions (either as to why it was rejected or feedback in general I suppose).

I'm Australian and some of it might be inside baseball or slang heavy for US viewers but either way thoughts are welcome!
