Rejectee Therapy for Fast and the Furious But With Sketch Comedy

  • My problem with this one was tone. So your premise is taking making internet parody videos (not serious, low stakes) with Fast and Furious (very serious, high stakes). I get it, that's a funny juxtaposition but then you throw out all the elements that actually make up Fast and Furious. I think it would've been a good idea to take the style of Fast and Furious -- specifically the camera angles, score, and acting. Sure, Fast and Furious is melodramatic but none of the actors ever wink at the camera and it felt like all your actors knew they were being jokey jokey. Don't let actors be jokey jokey no matter how much they want to.

I think everything about this was good, acting, production, etc. It was just the premise was a little nebulous for me. When I think of Fast and Furious, I don't necessarily think of competing groups of experts, so that aspect was confusing.

Also it is hard to do anything about hollywood well. A web video skewering web video production isn't a bad idea, but it needs to be just that, there was too much else going on.

I think if you tell a simple story, you'd have something.
