Gumbel
Done
"Gumbel" blew the doors off the Downtown Independent when it premiered in October 2011. It then proceeded to blow the doors off the place every month afterward, thus drastically increasing the theater's door budget. Kyle Reiter's writing and directing, Matt Freund's cinematography, and a pair of fantastic performances from Demorge Brown and Alma Kipner established "Gumbel" as one of Channel 101's all-time greats. After a year-long run in primetime, Reiter pulled the plug on the series and left Channel 101 with a show for the ages.
Gumbel makes amends in the satisfying finale to Kyle Reiter's year-long saga of Bryant Gumbel.
